I had an off-duty copper follow me to my fucking house (after I'd
overtaken him in my Peugot 405 diesel estate, FFS) and knock on my
front door about 12 years ago. He had absolutely nothing and left
with his tail between his legs.

I had an on-duty copper beat me to my house man years ago...

He was sitting there idly killing time in a gateway at about midnight
when I went flying past doing somewhere around 70mph in a 40mph limit
and when I saw him I decided to take evasive action. unfortunately
we'd met before and he remembered the bike and crash helmet so knew
who it was and simply called up the office and got my address.

After a discussion which involved me telling him he'd got nothing on
me because he was alone and he could check the bike as many times as
he liked but he'd find **** all he reported me for failing to change
the address on my driving licence. Apparently not changing your
address is a capital offence and as I'd been in the house over a year
at that point I was a danger to the public.

Heh, that reminds me of the time my brother got nicked by an off duty
bod as he was mistaken for a crook.

The copper will never do that again. My brother gave him so much shit
through the coppers complaints procedures, that I reckon said copper
will be directing school kids across the roads for the rest of his
    natural life.

This is one story I'll never forget.

A bloke I used to work with years ago. He was a biot of a martial arts
nutter & to be fair a fairly large bloke. He was in the centre of town one
day & some fucker starts shouting 'stop' etc. Matey chases after 'em,
catches the main protagonist & levels the fucker good & hard. unfortunatly,
he levelled the copper chasing him :)

My first Bikesafe course had a similar moment to that. When the PC
decided he wanted to have some fun, we pulled up and he said he'd take
the lead when we entered GLF territory. Apparently because they'd had
a few occasions of the student going first, with PC behind and a
member of the glorious public had decided to "help out" the nice
Policeman chasing the evil crim biker.

Serves you BHaL fucking well right. You don't get (A) without (B) which has
    always seemed obvious to me.

This is old hat. People who ride bikes are not a "group" in any legally
    recognised manner.

There is an answer but most of you are not going to go that way!.
