Anyone recommend insurance for cruisers? Been looking at them for
SWMBO and they're all "non standard" in some way. When I put so much
as customisation (or any mod in the list) into the box in Confused.com
the quotes go from loads under £180 to two, both over £500.

What do people do, lie on the insurance form or what??

I tried MCN Compare but it doesn't seem to translate well, the quotes
are all lower but when you press further into the process and get
transferred to the actual buying stage, the "modified?" box often
comes up as "no" - so is that because that insurer doesn't consider
those changes as mods or what?

For cruisers, think of it more as a gay tax rather than insurance. The
more chrome & leather you add, the higher the level of gayness,
    therefore the higher the tax.

So what you are saying is, this type of motorbike is going to turn
    SWMBO into a lesbian?

She doesn't like plasticky japanese jellymoulds and I think she has a
point. I like bikes where you can see the oily bits too. Also, she's a
shorty so needs a low seat height. These two lead her to the
    conclusion of riding a cruiser.

Don't be daft, how could a bike change someone's sexual preference?
What I'm saying is she already is a lesbian, she just hasn't told you
yet. Buying a cruiser is her first tentative step towards a full
    coming-out.
Raptor 650 or Monster. I'd go for the Raptor.

You'd try and claim on an insurance policy from Keyser Soze?

I'm *fantastic* at giving advice about women. It's the taking advice I
    struggle with.
BDs now, both a success. Might squeeze another in before going away if
she cancels her plans for the weekend. The irony of you asking that in
this thread is that she's currently doing contract proofreading of
    Harley manuals!
