    Fucking scrotes.

Saw some kids hanging around near my bike a couple of days ago, and
when I went outside it turns out they were trying to nick it - the
inition barrel is mangled and no longer works properly.

I was pretty annoyed, but took it fairly calmly as I had left it
unlocked overnight, so it was likely to be opportunistic. Subsequently
I've chained it to the back of my girlfriend's car (which has also
recently been broken into), and stuck a disc lock on for good measure.

So last night I saw said scrotes near the bike again, and as soon as I
saw them they fucked off, so I went out to see what they were doing.
Thu cunts had stabbed the back tyre - which is fairly new - and it was
deflating at a rate of knots.

I resisted the urge to run after them as a) they were on bicycles b)
being beaten up by 3 15-year-olds would be humiliating and c) at least
one had a knife. I phoned Camden's finest, who predictably didn't
bother turning up even though the perps were still in sight.

Anyway I'm totally fucked off, and I've also got to take the fucking
tube to work. They're clearly able to get away with this kind ofo stuff
as the police don't care, and I can't do anything for fear of gettig
    stabbed. Cunts

Move to somewhere less pikey than Camden. This would mean anywhere else
    in the known universe.

luck of the draw. In any case, "Camden" isn't pikey - "Camden Town" is
a bit pikey sure, but I wouldn't apply that term to, say, Fitzrovia or
Hampstead, both of which are in Camden.

Camden is Camden Town to me. I didn't really count the whole
geographical area that the word 'Camden' covers.

I like Hampstead, but haven't a clue where Fitzrovia is.

Noho i.e. the block the same east-west, but north of Oxford Street
rather than south. Charlotte Street, Goodge Street, that sort of place.

Gotcha. There's no bike shops in that area, so I don't go there

Another "unexpectedly in Camden" non-pikey[1] place is Hatton Gardens,
but I don't expect you go there either.

I only know all this crap about Camden because Angie is a projects
    officer for Camden Council.

[1] if you want pikey-camden-out-of-camden-town, try Kilburn on for
    size.

I almost did a contract in Kilburn a few years ago - I thought it was a
rubbish company in a rubbish area - and didn't take the job :)

I also almost had my scooter (2 weeks into ownership) nicked on Camdem High
street after I parked it in a designated bay around the corner from a
    Nando's.
Being (even more) niave, I failed to notice the block of council/whatever
flats and was somewhat alarmed to return to said scooter to find about 5
kids trying to similtaneously sit on/knock over/break into the poor thing.

Never took it, or fact any other bike (or myself) back there.

Do you feel that having kids of that sort of age has made you more likely to
notice/be a victim of 'anti-social behaviour', or do you think it would have
    happened regardless?

Ahh-hhhh... So that's why Fitzroy St is down there? Blimey, I like a bit
of Edukashun (but not too much) :)
There used to be one in George St I think. I got an invite to test ride
the GSX1400 when it came out but by the time I got round to it they'd
    gone out of business.

Do you go into Bike-a-delic (or however it's spelt) just round the
    corner from Camden market?

Write to your MP (http://www.faxyourmp.co.uk/) & demand an explanation
from both him/her & the chief constable. Ask them why the police
completely failed to respond to a criminal act when the culprits were
clearly identified & still within sight. I did this when my mobile was
stolen in similar circumstances, & it didn't half make them wriggle
and, more importantly, get off their lazy arses & do something.

Then write to the council & inform them you will be retaining the
portion of your council tax allocated to the police.

is that because all of the scooters have been stolen?

Heh - it was however actually a serious question - in my street there are
some kids who annoy me - a lot - but they aren't 'anti-social' in Rope's
sense (yet - I suspect they may become it though if their Dad's apparent
attitude to the rest of the world is anything to go by) - but they also have
no reason or incentive/incitement to do anything near my house.

IF, however I had similarly aged kids, I suspect they would.

So it's just scooters now then? Actually, they didn't seem very "biker"
friendly when I had occasion to pop in there and weren't the most
helpful bunch. They had a shagged out ZX-6 in there I nearly bought for
work but they weren't interested in telling me anything about it and
looked like they really couldn't be arsed.

Which parts of London do you do and are there any types of shops you
do/don't do? I mean do you do more bikey shops that scooter shop for
    instance?
