1983 Honda CX650 Eurosport - How do I adjust the ride height? It's the
    monoshock version.

Can it be done without major surgery? It just needs to come down an inch
to give its new female owner a bit more confidence.

I'm tempted to say no, because...
Whilst that might make it softer, it probably wouldn't change the ride
height. And I'm not sure I'd like to ride a CX with all the air taken
out of the shocks and it would be a tall verywobblybeast rather than
    just a tall wobblybeast
I seem to recall that question being asked in the late '80's

    Too troo.

In fact, it's also clearly the wrong bike for the rider. I'll give you
    a tenner for it.

I'd not have thought the air would make much difference to the static
sag, more to the spring deflection under load. It might make a decent
difference if she's a big fat bird, or even a short really fat bird, but
she's still have to get her leg over in the first place.
    Or even a VF500?
Oddly, if I had one it would have to be a mono...

    platypus says...
Not at all high in the saddle[1] and the VF500 has conventional exposed
twin discs. The VF400 had the enclosed ones.

    [1] I had a VF400F and always wanted a 500 - I can easily touch the
floor flat-foot on either. Fantastic bikes they were.
