He was travelling a bit too quick for the surrounding traffic!

At least he went over the top and not into though...

I would suggest that wasn't the only mistake the rider made. I wonder if he
was watching where he was going as well. The car appears to brake at the
last moment maybe if the rider was paying more attention he could have gone
past the front of the car. Also the rider doesn't appear to brake at all.
Maybe this should be shown to learners.

Ps - I am in no way suggesting the accident is the poor riders fault, I am
only suggesting that he may have avoided hitting the idiot in the car if he
    was a little more carefull.

You'll be OK Paul. Pedestrians are rarely involved in crashes like
    this....

  6. Really?

You mean I shouldn't be practising by riding down the sidewalks?

    S'all good.

So; have I missed the "I've bought a bike" post or did you already have a
bike before you started lusting after east-coast Kawasakis, Paul?

  8. Nope, I'm still bikeless.

Accumulating gear though - got a Shoei helmet, boots and gloves, and
have a jacket to try on / pick up tomorrow.

Anyone know if the bike market is better after Christmas?

ie, lots of people selling their older bikes now that they have a newer
    shinier toy to play with?

    prk.
