It is with great sadness I have to pass on to all of you that Darren
Bokenham passed away on a ride yesterday in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Darren was riding with a group of friends and we were returning to Canungra
via the Clagiraba Road at Mount Nathan. He was in good spirits, we had had a
great day and were looking forward to having a drink and a chat when we got
    home.

The media has reported the accident and as usual some details may be
    inaccurate, or sensationalised.

Darren passed away quickly and was surrounded with his friends doing their
    best for him.

    Rest in peace Darren.

I guess that's all any of us could hope for, under those unfortunate
    circumstances.

    Kind regards

Darren could've represented Australia if the Olympics had a "good bloke"
    competition.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Thanks for advising us Chris, and for helping him and his family.

Just thought I would post and let you know that we'll be staying at The
    Center Point (07) 4661 3488 $68single/$79double (+$11pp additional).

I called tonight and booked us a room with a few extra beds incase people
turn up who haven't got rooms - or are happy to bunk with us. Just a word
    of warning - we've got a 3 month old who'll be there too - hopefully she'll
continue with the sleeping through and she wont be a problem, but there's
    always the chance....

Anyways, we have 4 single beds in the apartment (apparently two rooms - one
room has a queen bed and a single - the other room has three singles).

They have the largest carpark which is why we are staying there... We'll be
there Thursday night and Friday night - leaving Saturday to drop people back
in Brissy before we head back up to Gladstone.

Let me know if anyone needs help getting from brissy airport to warwick
(although space in the Prado may be limited....)

you since I moved away from Sydney, it was strange not seeing you every
weekend... Riding will never be the same..

If you're thinking of Flying to Brisbane, please DO NOT ARRIVE LATER
THAN 7:00. It's a three hour drive to Warwick, and the funeral starts
at 11. I'll be picking up anyone who wants to be picked up (call me,
0402-077-155, and warn me that you're coming) on friday morning, and
you'll be back in Brisbane at 12pm on Saturday. These are the flights
to get! Seating is limited in the Prado, so if you do want a lift,
    please call us ASAP!

Also note that Brisbane airport is miles away from anything even
slightly interesting, and it's about a $10 taxi fare just to get out of
the airport area. So don't get too excited about going and seeing
brisvegas unless you budget another 1/2 hour each way for travelling to
    and from the city.
