The latter is what I meant, I didn't even think of the middle one - for
the record it's probably the quickest even though the longest, the last
    is the best one.

(still trying to work out how I can get that weekend off, we have a
    cutover going live :-(

I spoke to Chris about that, he was pretty clear that boky's (very
distinctive and easy-to-hear!) engine note was constant before the
crash, not the sudden rev or drop you'd expect if he'd gotten a bonus
neutral. Chris also mentioned he thought he felt a little something
when braking to a stop, so maybe a surface issue. But really, nobody
knows except boky, and maybe not even him - there's been plenty of
mystery crashes over the years, I had one myself not long ago.

You'd certainly have to put your money on it NOT being boky's mistake
though, based on his almost spotless history. But we're all human, as
this week in particular has demonstrated, and I'm sure if he'd
survived, boky would have been the first to admit if it was a mistake
on his part. But we'll never know.

(sorry to quote you if it's inappropriate, chris, but wanted to clear
up things based on more firsthand info.)

Sorry; I have no idea what he'd look like not-grinning.

  6. Yeah, too true, Agg. As you know I enjoyed many more beers then rides with
Boky but from what I did see he was a very capable rider. It certainly came
    as a shock to me.

    I couldn't have described Darren better if I'd tried, so I won't.

I don't think I ever went riding with Darren. I knew him via IRC and
various social occasions, mostly superbike and grand prix weekends, so
after I heard the bad news one of the first thoughts which sprang to
mind was "now who is going to document the drunken ausmoto weekends at
    Phillip Island?"
.. Noone else seemed to be able to capture the mood in pictures the way
he could and it seemed the only time he put the camera down was to pick
    up his drink.

Unfortunately, though I have the time to get to Warwick for Friday's
service, I had already made commitments to be in Adelaide for that
weekend, so perhaps if anyone else in Adelaide wants to get together say
about 11am on Friday morning, somewhere cool and shady, we can drink a
    few cold ones for Boky.

Lets face it guys; we're only doing this to make OURSELVES feel better.
Don't beat yourselves up if you can't make it 'cause Darren won't care
    whether we're there or not!

Only knew the lad from IRC but he always chatted pleasantly and was
fun and informative to talk with, obviously don't know him like many
of you did but yes, as Sharkey says, someone tip a bottle back for me
    as well.

Was from the last run i did from raymond terrace ---> walcha.
I did that run marked in green about 12months ago, gloucester roads are
pretty bumpy and the start of the thunderbolts road surface wasnt all that
good either, although very scenic and it improves later on.
PS there is fuel available at Nowendoc also - its about halfway between
Gloucester and Walcha a couple of clicks off the main drag (signposted well)

I came back via Maitland, Dungog, Stroud Rd & Gloucester after I picked up
the K75 in November and it was a very pleasant run.

Not much you can do north of Armidale for entertainment though. (And there's
about 6 speed cameras between Armidale and Glen Innes!!)

Also; Rob was a bit optimistic as it's actually more like 850km from Sydney
    to Warwick.

Unless you hang a right at Armidale & head to Grafton via Ebor.
Not knowing Bokey, but reading what's been said of him, it is the way
    he's want you to go!
