Time to treble fuel duty, that'll cut down the number of poor people
making short journeys in motor vehicles.

Zen which is required to ride a UJM.

The BMW doesn't require this preparation as it will enfuse you with
    Zeitgeist.

    pallet.

Will it work both ways. Does this mean I can't refuse a six year old a
    job?

  12. In uk.rec.motorcycles, The Older Gentleman belched forth and ejected the
    following:
    *Waves*

I broke my collar bone when I rode into the back of a stationary car.

  13. Following a truck (probably a bit too closely) on the SOGS, a pallet
appeared from underneath it, neatly straddled by the wheels of the
    truck.

I crunched straight through and over it at about 70mph. The GS didn't
flinch, wobble, or deviate. Tough old buggers.

That and the fact it will inevitably be a short journey if you're on
the outward leg of a journey but you only made it to the end of your
    street before binning it.

Well you probably do and don't think about it. Anyone who wants to
live/not spend a lot on repairs has to flick that switch between
dozing, brain dead in front of the tv and riding a bike.
If you are happy to mindlessly ride around then that's your lookout but
bear in mind all those other road users don't give a flying **** how
    long you've popped out for.

  17. I gave myself a severe bashing about the head when I rode a bicycle into
the back of an unlit tanker parked under a bridge. 'Kin painful in a
'when the **** will this pain stop, argh, it's getting worse', kind of
    way.

    And some very large ones.

Tbh, I'm glad I was wearing shorts and tshirt at the time, as proper
protective gear would probably have meant I'd have come away from the
accident almost completely uninjured, and then I'd have felt even worse.

Have you actually posted full details of your recent troubles? perhaps I
missed it. No need to be embarrased, it's not as if anyone will think
    worse of you.

No, I haven't, nor do I have any plans to do so. Other than "do remember
to pay attention when riding", there's nothing much to be learnt, other
than as a cautionary tale of what could happen when it all goes wrong.
Suffice to say, Ace came off fucking well in comparison (not to my own
    injuries, obv).
