As if more proof was required...

    I just got a quote for a 2002 R1 worth 6 grand. With a Datatag it'll
cost me around 800 quid fully comp[1].

    Without a Datatag? £1700!

£50 quids worth of tagging will get me £900 off my insurance. It even
makes more difference than having it alarmed. With a Datatag and no
alarm it's 800 quid. With an alarm its £750.

[1] all quotes from H&R. BikeTeam are coming in a little cheaper, but
    their excess is £750.

I'd read it was really effective but always had a sneaky suspicion "it
also scares elephants, look no elephants, it must work"

But, if the insurers are giving that big a discount there must be
something in it. IME business doesn't do something like that without a
    reason, anyone know?

If you are interested, I have 5 lots of datatags for sale. These are the
ones for mopeds / scooters. The only difference I can see between these and
the bike ones is that these have 1 transponder less. I am just about to
e-bay them, but if you want to get in early, they're marked up at £39.99, I
was going to put them on at £20.00 + P&P.
