Was that really all you could think of to do at midnight on new year's eve? Fuck me, I just want to warn people to be wary if buying or selling with you, not wreck your life.
In this season of goodwill to all men (and women of course) I thought I would offer a few brief comments on the Spacker/TOG 'debate' having, rather sadly, followed it with a mixture of amusement, bewilderment and frustration for what seems like an eternity. Firstly, I'm not in a position to comment on TOG's ethics but he seems to me to be a straight talking sort of guy who doesn't suffer fools gladly and who doesn't like to feel like he is being ripped off ie £50 for a local collection, albeit he should have confirmed free collection with the seller before bidding as he has himself admitted. On the other hand Spacker has come across as an immature and obsessive person who can't seem to leave the subject alone, or at least take it off the newsgroup as has been suggested by others already. This says to me that he likes the attention he is attracting to himself and marks him out as an attention-seeker. He may have started out wanting to warn others of what he rergards as a dishonest or unscrupulous seller but has carried the matter much to far and much too publicly. I know that Usenet is intended for anyone to say what they want when they want but surely there must be some element of self censorship, otherwise sensible people will lose interest eventually and it will be left to the obsessives and nutters. As far as Spacker is concerned he is either an obsessive (as evidenced by his comments about Ebay generally) or a troll (as suggested by his inflamatory allegations about TOG). Either way it would be nice if he could exercise a little self-censorship before hitting the send button. Happy New Year to everyone. Chris
