Ah. I had no idea that TOG had cross posted this so the subtlety of my
suggestion may pass the merkins and suicidal by.

Bad TOG. Are you going away soon, mayhap?

No, a Ural is too rare. I might suggest doing it on a BMW K1200S, at
160MPH, whilst test riding it. A perfectly expendable, but much higher class
    motorcycle.

You'd have to wear a clown suit if you did it on a Guzzi or a Triumph,
Rocket III. That wouldn't look too good.

You must remember, on your way out, looks and style are everything. Make a
    big splash.

    Are you bored?
    Are you jaded?
    Has all enthusiasm faded?

Are you one of those people
    Like glazed fruit
    Who sit there in shell-shock
Till the dot on your screen, disappears?

Are you one of those people?

    Or are you just afraid?
Are you one who craves excitement
    Were you tailor made

    For this sporting life?
    Living on a knife edge
    This sporting life's forever changing

Ooooh, are you one of these people?

    The keys please quick

    Strange looks from the bellman
As he takes me down the hallway

Mussolini? Ha! And we tend to think the French like to surrender.
At least we have something to sell.

    Besides,

    I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
They only come up to your knees,
Yet they're always friendly, and they're ready to please.

    I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
There's nine hundred million of them in the world today.
You'd better learn to like them; that's what I say.

    I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
They come from a long way overseas,
But they're cute and they're cuddly, and they're ready to please.

    I like Chinese food.
    The waiters never are rude.
Think of the many things they've done to impress.
There's Maoism, Taoism, I Ching, and Chess.

    So I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
I like their tiny little trees,
Their Zen, their ping-pong, their yin, and yang-ese.

    I like Chinese thought,
    The wisdom that Confucious taught.
If Darwin is anything to shout about,
The Chinese will survive us all without any doubt.

    So, I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
They only come up to your knees,
Yet they're wise and they're witty, and they're ready to please.

    All together.

    [verse in Chinese]
Wo ai zhongguo ren. (I like Chinese.)
Wo ai zhongguo ren. (I like Chinese.)
Wo ai zhongguo ren. (I like Chinese.)
Ni hao ma; ni hao ma; ni hao ma; zaijien! (How are you; how are you; how are
    you; goodbye!)

    I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
Their food is guaranteed to please,
A fourteen, a seven, a nine, and lychees.

    I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
I like their tiny little trees,
Their Zen, their ping-pong, their yin, and yang-ese.

    I like Chinese.
    I like Chinese.
They only come up to your knees...

Alternatively, our old site manager found, not on purpose, mind, that
wrapping yourself around a tree was quite effective. Especially if you
    are on anti-coagulants.

    Some more suggestions:

Pull up at a US-Harley meet and loudly exclaim "who ever made this
piece of japanese imported ill-handeling underpowered shit? I'll buy a
    proper american honda next!"

Paint it pink and wear a "Gay and proud of it" T-Shirt while riding
    through backwater southern USA.

Ride fast through Cairo. Or Mumbai.

Ride to scotland, order whisky and coke.

Hit a catseye while filtering past a truck at speed (friend of a
friend in London a while back. Messy.

    Excessive nitrous.

Lay next to it while the sidestand fails.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't be arsed to think about it in any
    great depth.

for those with a morbid interest.
not to mention statements such as:-

"Ultimately it was the internet that killed Carina"

Which, to my mind, is rather like the merkins blaming their guns for

But but but, owner of the mincing blush Triumph, going slow and looking
at the scenery isn't all about power and torque. As long as you've got
enough, it needs character as well.

Whilst the metric cruisers I've ridden have been significantly more
competent in all departments, they've lacked soul. I'd even say that the
newer Sportsters are soulless too, for the same reason.

In the same way that I enjoy blipping the throttle on a V8 Rover in
preference to a more-powerful newer in-line 4, the Harley hits the spot
in a way that that the Jap competition just can't.

So, why do you have your American muscle car and not an Astra VXR? The
VXR is better in every way measurable, but your car is better in the
    ways that count.

That said, don't let the septics off the hook. If you try and compare a
Harley's power, handling and braking with the Japanese alternatives then
    you're pissing in the wind.
