  1. And Ebay has removed the FB I left saying the bike was a ringer, but
    that the seller was unaware.

So there's nice. Bet you feel safer buying your vehicles off Ebay
    now....

  4. HPI won't show a bike up as being nicked if you give them the re-stamped
    number.

Which was the point I was trying to make the fuckwit seller understand
when he said he'd HPI'd it and it had come up clean.

Their database doesn't recognise the reg. no.

The DVLA database confirms the details and I've just run an Experian
check which is fine against the reg. no.

Slight alarm bell, though - guy says he's had it since 2001, Experian
reckon it had an owner change in 2005.

I'll drop him an email for an explanation on that one.

Good idea - my Corsaro shows a change of owner during my ownership
simply because the cluckwits at the DVLA did get my name wrong
originally and somehow didn't manage to correct the misspelling, so we
I moved down here they put in a change of owner even though there
    wasn't one.

    He moved house?
He'd have to send the V5 in for the change of address.

Which would be a change of address, not a change of owner, shirley?

  9. Text the registration number to 83600. It's 4 quid.

    Possibly.
Unless "Change of Owner" only counts how many times the V5 has had the
owner's details changed (name, address, whatever)

It doesn't. That's just a change of address. Change of keeper means the
name's changed, not the address. I've had it happen to me before - send
it off for a change of address and some twit at the DVLA marks it as a
change of keeper as well, despite the name staying the same.

Don't forget you DO NOT have any claim if the vehicle is found to be stolen
or has had the ID changed. The guarantees are worded in such a way to say
the data passed on to you from another source is accurate - not that the
data itself is accurate in any way! So forget all the "we will pay if your
car turns out to be stolen" guarantees.

But she caught you on the counter, AND saw you bangin' on the sofa (bet
you even had her in the shower - just think yourself lucky you weren't
    caught on camera).

    etc.
