Yebbut whilst the CBR125 can talk the talk, it simply can't walk the
    walk.

When my lad wanted a 125, he ended up paying more for an 18 month old
NSR125, as the CBR was just too dull.

    Loved that NSR.....

  4. Fine, OK, great. But 10 times as many people voted with their wallets
    for the CBR.

I had this conversation with someone at the weekend. maybe bonners or
champ, i forget. RGVs were about 150kg dry, TZR125s in the region of
130kg. So in terms of small bikes being more flickable than large ones,
there's really not much in it anymore (tyre width might have an effect
though) but the power differential is enormous.

I'm trying not to. I don't want to get attached. Hog will only take it
    away.

Mind you, there's plenty of land around here for a shallow grave.

LOL, not really mate. I've got no garage room. And a desire to stay

No doubt, and the CBR is a nice looking bike for a 17 year old CBT'er.

Performance wise though it's dull and not particularly tuneable, a bit
    like a CG [1] with a fairing.

I think also the 4 stroke reliability sits better with modern
youngsters than the potentially explosive nature of 2 strokes, as both
of my lad's mates who bought Aprillia RS125's found out. Fortunately,
our experience of the NSR was that it was both reliable and quick.

Thing is, small bikes as they were sold didn't really have rear tyres
that much smaller. Your GSXR has a what, 180 or 190 section rear?
    RGV250s and VFR400s had 150s, RS250s had 160s. OK, get down to a 125 and
you're looking at 130s, but the difference isn't huge.
Ah, ok. As you were, chief. It was quite a long way in front, too,
    wasn't it?

  15. I don't. In my experience, youngsters want the flashiest fastest things
around, and these have invariably been two-strokes.
So they didn't buy a Honda, then?
The Honda's cheap. They may *want* an Aprilia, but they can *afford* a
    CBR125.

That is a huge difference - trust me on that. Even going from a 180 to
a 190 has a noticeable effect on flickability. Add in the extra weight
of wider, stronger wheels & bigger brakes, & the difference is massive.

Who has finally realised that what the kitchen designer and myself both
told her about colour combinations was true.

    So...

We're off to paint the kitchen
    The wonderful kitchen of Gyp

Because of the horrible pink it is

A couple more weeks and this will all be over and I can go out and enjoy
the summer outside on my bike :)

    You know, the 750 is a strong contender. I don't really need a 1000
(want, not need), the 750 is plenty fast enough for me, and it's one
of the best looking bikes around.

Don't tempt me goddamnit, if I buy one now it'll just gather dust
    until the spring.
