Depressing new bikes

I think you're right. I mean, the CBR125 is a classic example of what
you're talking about, at least. Looks brilliant, cheap to buy, cheap to
run, cheap to insure. OK, so it won't stir the blood like a Gixxer Thou,
    but it's Europe's top-selling bike, I think. Certainly the UK's.[/QUOTE]

Problem with all the 125 race reps, is that unless your a fucking
    midget, you can't ride them.

My first bike was an FZR400, purely because it was the only sportsbike
that was a sensible size that I could afford to insure.

Hmm, my experience of teenagers is that they want the flashy bit, but
aren't so interested in the maintenance bit.
No, the CBR was a brand new model then.
Heh, this is true, the CBR is very well priced.

ginge banged the rocks together and they said :
I have various bits of metal in the drawer that I pulled out of my leg
(literally with pliers whilst sat on the bed)

For me, they represent 5 years of my life which were hell.

I think I keep them to remind me of that time, and how it all happened.

Not that I dig them out, fondle them, think happy thoughts and put them
    back away mind.

??? I can't think of many bikes that'd fit a houseload of furniture on
    the back.

Well, for a start, who here has a Blackbird?

Yes, that _is_ my Hepworth's comfy wool-blend car-coat up there on the peg.
I'll just take it down and I'll be gone.

  10. Still is. There are GP250s in the Champion of Brands against litre
bikes. ....and they don't always come last.

It'd be no more difficult than moving house using any bike and
panniers. I don't see the point you were making.

    I'm only guessing but I'd suspect that a ZX10R rear subframe wouldn't
support all the crap that plod bikes need to carry. I doubt if it's
down to reliability, economy, rider enjoyment, handling speed or any
one of a lot more reasons.

I wonder how many traffic plod assigned to bike duty choose a Pan as
their road bike and how many choose sports bikes?

Very good point, and not one I'd thought of.
I don't think enjoyment has anything to do with it, I do think being
able to sit in the seat riding 8 hours a day, 5 days a week would mean
comfort (or ergonomics, as they don't always follow) would be high on
    the list?

So using a bike that's comfortable for the rider to be on all day is
the priority? It's a good job safety isn't the priority or they
wouldn't use Pans after all the fuss that's been kicked up about them.

They'd probably be ok for moving house or selling ice creams.
