    Hi All
a friend of mine as an Hyosung 125 Comet

and as asked me as I have net access!, to ask if it's possible to
    derestrict a 125 comet,

I've read somewere that something can be done with the exhaust, is
their much of a gain, or is their something else that can be done to
    fix it,

he seems to think it's a bit sluggish, I've suggested that he try's a
different type of spark plug for the winter time,

    any suggestions please

    In
Yes tell him to buy a bigger bike [1].

Forget it, any gains would be minimal compared to buying a bigger bike.
    Buy a bigger bike

[1] by bigger I mean larger capacity engine.

  3. Not really - they're just low powered as standard. You could play with a
different exhaust, air filter and carb jets, but given your ignorance of
    the subject, I wouldn't bother.

Usually a less restrictive exhaust and air filter, plus a re-jetted
carb, will yield another bhp or two, but there's no knowledge base on
Hyosungs, so it's a suck-it-and-see approach. And see above.
This confirms that you are indeed a know-nothing. Tell him to run the
    standard recommended plug.

  4. So, let me get this straight. Are you saying, in essense, that he should buy
    a bigger bike?

You're right, they are slow. I've got a CG125, which is the same as a
    Hyosung basicly.

Don't they do a gearing upgrade kit to get the top speed up a little? I
think this kit consists of a new front sprocket with one extra tooth on it.

There's a young lad takes his Hyosung Comet down to the local pub bike
meet. It's got nitrous oxide fitted and goes like fucking stink.

ISTR that Performance Bikes had a nitro'd CG125 for one of their features,
"Silver Teen Racers" I think. My other recollections are that it was called
"Maude", that a full tank of NO2 would last it about 20 minutes and that is
blew a hole in the piston during speed testing.

I want a Turbo one, but, I've got an idea for crank driven supercharger
    on a CG125.
