Desmo valve tune

Need all the info I can find to attempt to adjust the desmo valves on my '84
SD900. The workshop manual at ducati meccanica contains very little break
down information for a newbie such as myself. It's becoming quite
expensive at the nearest ducati mechanic willing to service it. So I would
like to take it on myself.
Also any tips from the dyi folk, do's and don;t's, specialist tools etc.,.

The best thing is to have SWK with you at the time. Adjusting Desmo gear
from zero experience can be tricky. That said, there are some good
websites that show you how, if you google.
