Detune T100R a bit?

Discussion in 'Classic Motorcycles' started by Lee Derbyshire, May 31, 2004.

  1. It's getting harder to ride my T100R around where I live now - the roads are
quite busy these days, and it would much rather be on the open road than
negotiating the lengthening queues on our estate. Frankly, it has next to
no bottom-end power, and I would happily sacrfice some top-end power if I
could make it happier at low revs. It's either that, or move house / quit
    work.

Could I do this by removing a carb (and rejetting / fitting a manifold), or
    would that remove all top-end ~and~ bottom-end power, too? I don't think
there's a lower CR piston available (they all seem to be 9:1).

Basically, I've reached that time of life where I'm happy to potter about
than to thrash it, but can't bring myself to get rid of it.

  3. Okay, thanks for the feedback everyone. You've given me plenty of food for
    thought.
