It's usenet. If he wanted a private conversation I assume he'd have
emailed Smee. I took him up on his challenge to Smee to repeat what he'd
said at the time, as is my right in a public forum. I reposted the
comments that he'd made at the time and followed up with a personal
opinion of the man. As is my right in a public forum. I've not colluded
with anyone, conspired with anyone, nor contacted anyone concerned off
the newsgroup.

I addressed Gerry directly with my first remarks. I'd be happy to repeat
them to his face should I ever have the opportunity to meet him. Not
cowardly. Not hiding behind a mob. He was the one who invited criticism.
I answered his call. It seems you're just unable to accept that multiple
people have an independent opinion that conflicts with yours.

What did they offer for the Hornet? ...and more curiously, what did you

Two and a half... :-( and that against 17 grand of Triumph Speed Triple.

about the same, against a new VFR800.

In some respects I liked both the VFR and the Triumph, but since both
required a serious donation of cash, and neither seemed to do anything
_that_ much better, I still ride the Hornet.

Truth be told, I still enjoy riding the Hornet, too!

Aye, I liked it too. When I got the Hornet I was still commuting into
the city for work reasons. The thing that stopped me then was the heat
from the VFR in city traffic.

BTW, I did, eventually, try a 900 Hornet, and I think the 600 feels like
a nicer bike. I was so underwhelmed that I didn't even bother with money
discussions.
