God no! For a rummage in the dirt I would always go round the back.

Margarine and sand works very well too. Not a nice smell though.

  4. When I was but a sprog I had just discovered the hand cleaning
properties of fresh motor oil when an industrial chemist from the unit
next door warned me off that - skin cancer is wildly unattractive to the
    laydeez, he said.

My mother has an industrial-size tub with dispenser pump in her
    downstairs loo.

If she *ever* tells me what she gets up to with it, I may vomit all of
    my internal organs.

Fairy liquid and sugar also work.

The stuff I use is fairly cheap and works very well, it is called
Manista and is available from all usual outlets. It is kind of like
swarfega but it contains "poly chips" to grind the dirt out.

I wonder why it is never repeated, while we have hundreds of channels of

You keep your hands off her swarfega, you cheeky scrounger. That's my

Sugar works as well as sand and it's far easier on the drains when you rinse
them too. Of course if you pour a little engine/gear/cooking/whatever oil on
your hands and rub for a minute or two, it makes the sugar and washing up
    liquid method almost redundant.

Are they good at hand cleaning?

    <googles>

Apparently not until they're rendered down.
