Tricky. I guess we'll just have to wait for the Channel 4 programme -
it's bound to be coming soon.

Is that the one warning about cancer and stuff? If so, I'm not convinced
that the amount and frequency of use would put anyone at any real risk.

  6. I have a mild weakness for "Nous somme du Soleil" (I'm sensing a Yes
theme here) or even one of the very many fine tunes by the Flower
    Kings.

However - since Prog is such a wide genre you'd really have to start
splitting it up into sections like "greatest symphonic prog song"
(people like Yes/Flower Kings/Genesis), "greatest prog fusion song
(Brand X/Chad Wackerman et. al.), greatest neoprog song (Marillion, IQ,
    Pendragon etc etc).
    Here is my shortlist:

    Symphonic prog:

Flower Kings: Garden of Dreams (OK - so strictly its not a single song
but a whole set of linked songs but it's close enough)
    Flower Kings: Devils Playground
    Genesis: Unquiet Slumbers/Quiet earth/Afterglow
    Genesis: Suppers ready.
Yes - Nous sommes du soleil

    Neo Prog:

    Iluvatar - The final Stroke
    Marillion - Beautiful
IQ - The wrong side of weird
Also Eden - The enemy within

    Prog Metal

    Dream Theater - Octavarium
