    "Cages, not cars"?
I wonder how it deals with discs fitted with splashplates on the back,
that cover the rear face of the disc and can take some time to remove
as you'd have to remove the disc first, at least.

Aren't discs generally refaced by surface grinding, which is held to be
    more accurate than skimming?

Aren't car discs normally just lobbed away, since there's rarely much
permissible wear (2mm for the vented fronts on mine) anyway, and they
tend to be dirt cheap (£45/pr, pattern)?

Would be my take on it also. Despite all the electronic
lining-up-gizmotry, seemed to be nearly as much faff as lobbing on a new
set of discs. You'd have to sell the service at a fair bit cheaper than
a new set of discs, or why would anyone bother. I'll bet it takes rather
a lot of discs before you've got your money back. There might be a
market for refurbing ceramic discs, I bet it can't do those.
