And watch out in case the factory has some low-key (but important) recall
or upgrade that only the dealers get to know about.

But what sort? I'm now told that it comes in all sorts of exciting
regional flavours including toe-jam and whale-snot, can't wait for the
    mixed pack!

I didn't get my Triumph serviced by Triumph and subsequently missed out on
the "secret" new ignition-module that prevented the $1000-to-fix
    just-out-of-warranty starter-clutch problem.

On the other hand, keeping an eye on user forums helps and often
provides better alternatives to the factory's fix.

Case in point; The plastic quick disconnect fuel fittings on the
T595/955i Triumphs were recalled to be replaced with more durable alloy
ones. Problem was they'd only replace the male fittings.

Not satisfied with this, I bought a male/female set of chromed brass
    couplings from t5.net.

My original male fittings were fine, the females were damaged and
leaking. The recall was pointless in my case.

It's those zerk fittings I tell ya!

Dejectedly walks away, throws leather pants in the bin, not much use
now that I'm not in NSW [1]

    Bill

[1] Did I tell you that the crotch fell apart in my leather pants? :\
Don't know whether it was all those years of lethal farts, but it was
a worry that it happened in NSW
