there's one I see around here from time to time, on a white Pan Euro,
with day-glow tape and an antenna sprouting from one of the panniers,
hi-viz jacket, and a white helmet with black caps letters spelling
    "POLITE" on it.

    ****.

I think that comes close to impersonating a plod officer. In fact, IIRC it
isn't close, it *is* and therefore, he should be prosecuted or run over.
    Indeed.

    me neither.

Unless you'd also count "sexy WPC strip-o-grams" as "impresonating a
plod officer". No-one'd be really taken in by this guy, but he does
/at first sight/ if you catch him in your wing-mirrors seems to be a
bikecop, but a closer look just reveals him to be a sad twat.

What, not even the flashing blue line on Page 1?
"Bike Blessing soon, have you told Tom you are coming?"

    and yet further on:

"Yet another set of rules! Comment

British motorcycle riders face new curbs under plans to harmonise driving
    licences across the European Union.

The new rules, which will come into force in 2012, are intended to counter
the rising number of motorcycle accidents.

Under the arrangements teenagers will still be able to ride a 50cc moped
from the age of 16 but will have to wait until they are 19 if they wish to
use a machine of more than 125cc. Currently 17- and 18-year-olds may do so
provided they have passed a motorcycle test and the machine has a maximum
engine performance of no more than 33bhp.

At the other end of the scale, the system allowing 21-year-olds to ride any
motor-cycle provided that they have passed their test will be scrapped. The
minimum age will rise to 24, unless they have gained at least two years'
experience on larger machines of up to 47 bhp."

Well **** you very much. OK I'd be happier if they applied the same sense
to Car drivers. Are there and Instructors reading? Comment?

Don't really care about any of that, except that you get the feeling
the 100bhp limit's not far behind. UKIP don't sound so bad after all...

OK, that's worth a little sneer.
    <big snip>

Now you see I'm entirely with the blue knights on this one,
particularly when they accuse the ACPO of telling porkies.

    Are you trolling again?

Sorry, but any group who go out wearing colours and on organised rides
with road captains etc. etc. are by definition something to sneer at.

Huh? I reproduced it because it was news to me and suggested that such
legislation needs to be applied to car licences, not bikes.

I'm all for tight bike regs. Happily see provisionals issued at 18 y/o but
up to 250cc@33bhp bikes, all this 50/125 stuff is rubbish. Wouldn't mind if
    over 250 was 2 years/over 21.

Most of all I'd like to see Cage provisionals issued at 21 with 2 years on
    1.3L@70bhp

Any everyone REALLY should have to complete an eye test with the
hazard/reaction time awareness test every 3 years and every year over 60.
And the level for recinding the licence on those criteria needs to be
    tightened up.

The Swiss have it just about right.

Well yes of course. Runs out should be conducted at maximum velocity with a
rolling escort system at junctions. *Damn* good fun on FOT's that was.

    Without Vince of course ;o)
