  1. One of my hobbies is writing. This is the new book. Take no notice that
the main character is called Clem.

Rowland Croucher is an Australian academic, teacher, pastor,
broadcaster, editor, executive of World Vision, author, omnicompetent,
    knows about books.

I know Rowland and try to have a meal with him whenever I'm in
    Melbourne.

psml...I really shouldn't read forums without coffee and a wakeup
    shower.

I misread the Good Doctor's name and thought it was a childrens'
    toiletry training book.

PS. Congratulations on the book though! Publishing a novel is A
    Wonderful Thing.

  9. Your curse is important to us and you have been placed in a queue ....

Oh, yeah, sorry about the name. Somebody left it lying around somewhere.
Forget where now. Do you want it back?

  10. Hope this means you will have enormous enthusiasm in the Croucher
tradition and go out and buy the book. :)

Rowland read my first book of short stories, one of which is based on
some of my childhood trauma. Following that he asked me to join him
while doing a conference session on child abuse issues. On that basis I
asked him to read the galley proofs of this one, and if he thought it
worth the while to write a review. The reviews, from him and others, are
    better than I ever imagined.

    Naah; I'm largely fictional anyway....

  12. You're not too far off the mark there. There's a place in the book where
the character (whose name cannot be spoken here) is in the police
station for the first interview about being sexually abused when he was
ten. As a matter of routine they ask him to name the perpetrator and he
shits his pants from the stress. Not what most teenagers are used to.

However, it's not quite "One Upon A Potty" which is still floating
around here somewhere from when our son was little.

  13. Forgot that. It's the blurring of the boundaries brought on by too much
    reality TV.

Anyway, there's this bloke named George somebody who will probably agree
    with you for a change.

  14. What a coincidence, I was about to agree with the knobless one on being
firstly largely and also being fictional
