  2. Until that one comes out you'd better just go out and buy this one. :)

My wife restricts me to buying only one book per week, but I snuck in
an extra two last week.I'm currently reading six books. I need more
    time.

So come on, don't leave us in suspenders; where can we get a copy?
(or do we have to wait for mid July?)

Is it being released in some type of ebook format?

I seldom buy paper books these days to be honest.

  6. Start here
    http://www.fordstreetpublishing.com/
    Then go to order
    then shopping cart

Otherwise, get your local bookshop to order stock. It's all sitting
there waiting to go. Tell them 'Bookseller+Publisher' (check my site)
has it in their top picks for July/August and they should order in a
    shed load.

  7. So how does not buying paperback books make you honest?

I actually was being serious (despite what you appear to have thought).

I'm a heavy reader and purchaser of books (roughly 100 books a year plus
magazines) but I buy in excess of 95% of those books in various ebook
formats these days (mostly from fictionwise.com and ereader.com). I
read them either on my iPhone or with the BeBook reader device.

It's gotten to the point where I have multiple bookcases (overflowing)
and about 20 boxes of books in the shed and I'm somewhat reluctant to
    make the problem worse.

Nor was I saying I wouldn't buy a copy if it wasn't available (or going
to be available) in an ebook format, I just meant I'd prefer it to be...

    *sighs*

I would have thought that you at least, having seen me reading on the
iphone so much (and Jodz complaining about it) would have realized I was
    being serious.

eBook readers are just less hassle...

  11. It was a joke, mate. Irony. Play on words. I knew what you meant.

I relate to that. When we moved last year we had to empty the house of
books before selling. Nearly every wall had bookshelves somewhere and we
wanted a less cluttered look for prospective customers. We asked the
removalist/storage place for fifty cartons for books. They thought we
were off our head. Two days later we returned with trailer loads of
bookshelves and several journeys with the filled cartons.

As far as I know the publisher doesn't put things into ebook. But
    everything's negotiable.

    Cheers

I very much doubt it. This is private industry, not the education
    dep't.

  14. I've got word processor files and some galley proofs. These are not
ebooks. The publisher has the final version, and owns the right to
distribute it - that's what contracts and royalties etc are all about.

Is it similar to Jo's one at Wintersun?
they are nifty little gadgets and I wouldn't mind one actually.

My BeBook is a similar type of device to Jo's one but her one is a Sony
    ebook reader I think.

The BeBook reader is a bit more basic and a bit less expensive compared
to the Sony which is a bit more upmarket and polished.

That's fairly typical of Sony gear in my experience...

I <heart> my N810. Linux handheld that, amongst other things, has an
    excellent e-book reader app.

I <heart> my iPhone. BSD handheld that, amongst other things...

The idea of being able to ssh into a telephone and do unixy things
is just... very nice. The way the world should be. I never, for
example, needed to figure out how Apple wants me to copy photos
off of the phone, I just use rsync.

Ditto. I just need a phone, but until the RX55 comes out with a SIM
slot then I need a 3g phone with bluetooth so the N810 can talk to the
    world where there isn't wifi.

But all the bluetooth 3g phones are either full of smartphone crap I
don't need (and which is awful on a phone keyboard) or bricksized.

Don't want an iphone, don't want Apple telling me what I can and can't
    do.

So I <heart> my N810 but I'm a fickle lover.. once the RX55 is out and
Gene Cash's calendar software is ported to it, the N810 is history.
