Dodgy 125 headlights

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Milo Thurston, Sep 19, 2005.

  1. I finally obtained a 125 ('99 Suzuki GS125) for the SO, and took her out
to practice night riding last night. I thought the headlights looked a
bit feeble, but oncoming cars kept flashing despite her insistence she'd
    dipped them.
I checked later, and it seems that all that the dip switch does is turn
the blue light on the control panel on and off - it has no effect on the
brightness (which appears to be permanent main beam).
Is this likely to be a dodgy bulb, or something else?
Also, does anyone know of a good second-hand parts supplier for these
    bikes?

Most likely some fuckwit's wired it on all the time to save buying a
new bulb. Remove the bulb and check for fusewire or similar wrapped
around the connectors. If not, check it's the correct bulb.

  3. Thanks - I'll have a fiddle with it tonight.
Other than that (and the broken trip-counter reset knob) it seems
OK, and she likes it because it is red.
