Don't worry, all this global warming will negate the need to even think
    about getting it repaired.

Didn't your service man give a guarantee? Our boiler is covered for this
kind of crap by the simple virtue of giving our man 110 quid a year to
service and (if necessary) repair it at no extra cost.

And a pair of jump leads or a booster pack "just in case".

Isn't that the spa town in the Auvergne? We took the bikes to that region
a couple of years ago. The weirdest place (for France) I've ever been.
The food is truly disgusting. Unimaginably, when we asked the chef in the
hotel restaurant where we could go for a really good regional meal, he
said, "On ne mange pas bien ici". For lunch one day I had truite au lard,
which I thought would be fried with bacon, which sounds like quite a nice
idea. The lard was actually little lumps of fried fat, looking exactly
    like navets.

Lovely scenery though. We ended up on top of Puy Griou twice in three
    days.

The very same. A surprisingly extensive ski area now the Puy de Sancy is
    linked with Super Besse.

I've been in weirder places in France. Oyonnax for one.

Not eaten there much. The Chevre Chaud I had for lunch up at the ski
station, on one summer excursion on the tart was OK - but hardly
regional. Your trout sounds a bit like some sausage I mistakenly
purchased in the Pyrenees (Lescun) once . The literal translation was
'sausage of grease'. They weren't kidding - though candle wax might have
    been closer.

Some interesting roads between there and Issoire, though a little too
liberally sprinkled with gravillons the time I did them.

That'll be why its broke then, they always break about a month after
servicing, why they don't service them in the summer I'll never
    understand :)

Ours did today as well - low water pressure. I've got the hang of
opening a valve just enough to bring the pressure back up to 1.5 Bar so
the boiler will fire up again.

In 2 weeks time I'll be repeating this again.

And why should the two be related ?

boiler servicing is, on the whole, a bit of a con and charging you mucho
wonga for hoovering out the combustion chamber doesn't really impact on
when e.g. a thermocouple kicks it

btw, what boiler is it ?

Make sure you keep it topped up with inhibitor then

each time it leaks and you refill it, you're diluting the inhibitor AND
introducing more limescale into the primary circuit
