Does anybody have any experience with Sargent seats?

I'm not overly happy with the stock BMW seat (who is these days?) and
I'm thinking about getting either a Sargent or a Corbin seat. I've had
Corbins before, the main downside is the price (high) and the fit (not
always that great) plus they seem to be unobtainable used anyway.

Nippy Normans is selling Sargent seats for the RT, which does appear to
be a little cheaper than a Corbin anyway. Anybody got any experience
    with those at all?

    Would a R1100RT seat fit an R1150RT?

    See http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180310871927

Not sure what it's doing on some strange stroker.

Anyway the listing ends at 11:09 tonight and sitting at £25 ATM

    That's good to know.
I've had a few older Corbins and the fit was always a little
    questionable IMHO.
Never even heard of them - any links or info?

Have a word with this guy http://www.diggerseats.co.uk/

He made up a special for my ST1100, very comfortable and cheaper than a
    Corbin.

I'm pretty sure I've already got the BMW comfort seat on my RT. As all
BMW seats, it's still too soft.

Thanks for the link, looks good (even though I wouldn't want a snakeskin
seat cover). Only issue I'd have is that I don't have a spare seat for
    him to rework.

He needs the "original seat as a base" so buy a cheap used on on ebay
    and....

Highly rated by the Yank Tiger owners.

I realise that, but "cheap" and "used" doesn't seem to figure much for
BMW seats of any ilk. In fact, my regular ebay searches don't pick up
that many parts for the 1100RT/1150RT in the first place.

    This guy http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/bokobikebits
seems to be breaking an 1150RT, maybe the seat has a torn cover and not
    worth listing....

I ought to get my R-GS seat down to him whilst I'm indisposed. The vinyl
has split where it wraps around the base and I'm sure it could be made more
    comfortable.

Can't help there Timo, but the Bagster tank bag folk make seats (under the
name of "Seatster" no less) and I've had one on the Zed for a couple of
years which is still as good as new. More comfy than the original, but I can
get a gel insert or two if needed. In the seat, before anyone gets ideas.

"The extra support that the seat gives is startling, but without being
    visually intrusive" followed by

"The seat is in AS NEW condition, having been fitted only once, and never
    been actually ridden on."

Doesn't exactly fill me wth confidence that he knows what it's REALLY like.

    Indeed.

However I know - I just checked and I do actually have that seat on the
RT. Hence me looking for a better alternative.

No BMW seats, unfortunately. I guess I'll just get the Sargent as that
seems to be the easiest way.
