Does anyone here ride motorcycles?

LOL I've been riding 26 years and had my first (and hopefully only)
accident last September. Broke my tibia plateau in 7 places and a
couple of ribs, totaled the '01 Vulcan 800B. Had the halo on my leg 4
months, then 5 more months until I got the last of the screws out. In
the 17 months I had my '01 800 Classic, I put 19,956 miles on it.
*Great* bike. Got the '03 VN 800B on May 27. Since I had the last knee
surgery a few weeks after I got the bike, I've only put a bit over 2,000
miles on this one. Rode it to Austin for ROT 3 days after I got it.
Didn't have the throttle lock or floorboards then, and boy did I miss
them. It was really lousy weather here most of the day, but I did sneak
in a quick ride to the store this afternoon.

Hopefully we'll have some decent weather tomorrow. My sweet hubby
shined my bike up while I was gone with my middle son today. I'm really
bad about not washing it. I'd rather be riding. I can live with the
    dirt. :)

    Boy! You're a gem!

If you bothered to so much as read a couple of those fancy posts you
kindly did a search on, you might've found that those "common 4
letters words" were used by others and NOT the one you intended to
search on. The problem with Google is when you do a search, you'll get
what you ask for WITHOUT parsing for who said what.

Here's a single example of the first one I clicked into. I knew the
result and didn't bother going into each post since I knew what the
others would be about the same:
Re: Radio address from the President

Some even were the "common 4 letters words" directed to the one who
you searched for in the first place. I'm sure we could find many of
your posts with "common 4 letters words" in them too...using your
    method to find them.

Please learn to use search engines before playing on the 'net...

Beemer Biker, are you saying that you object to Bill's use of 4 letter
words? I have to admit your point eludes me as well, and I don't even know
Bill. I wouldn't gauge a man's value on the use or non-use of swear words.
Some very great men have been known to cuss a blue streak.

Thanks for the ride offer, Bill. Maybe next time. I'm headed for a ride over
to Lake Fork for some fun in the sun.

Ya know, if you'd stop mixing bleach and ammonia you'd not have a
problem with speaking slowly...and you might be able to follow what I
was saying in the first place.

Thanks, I'm on my 2nd Vulcan 800 Classic. :-( They *hate* Suburbans.

I haven't been in the dirt since my wreck in September. I just got my
halo off my leg in January, and finally got the last of the screws out
June 27. I'm still a bit squeamish on riding the rough stuff. I have
    taken my 800 off-road a few times, but it *ain't* the same. :) I
didn't get a chance to ride yesterday or today, because we've been
moving my daughter back in with us. Amazing how you can get an entire
apartment of stuff into one bedroom. NOT. :) Her lease was up and
she's planning to move closer to the college, but she's got to find
someplace she likes that she can afford first. I'll be glad when she
    gets settled.

LMFAO.... I'm not trying to encourage or discourage the back and
forth bantering, but that was freaking hysterical.

LOL.. since I am retired, guess it's my "job".. hehehe.. Been too damn hot
to to run my ol' motorcycle..but.. hopefully we'll get a break from all that
heat, also.. I did get the thing cleaned up pretty good.. I started waxing
while iit was cool enough.. I think that last couple of coats slipped off
with the heat, so no I am trying to figure out how to slide them back up..
    Have a good one..

My friend's father said he never worked so hard in his life until he
    retired. ;-)

I waxed mine just before the heat really got here, so it is good to go
for a while. I also use a spray type Honda cleaner/polish that is
real good at doing the trick in a pinch. Not sure who really
manufactures that one. My Italian bike is not so prejudiced that it
cares if it is a Japanese polish that I am putting onto it.

You know it's too damned hot out if the wax is melting off yer
    scooter!

What is really difficult is when it slides down that way and you try to pull
it back in place... sheesh.. I have a product designed by one of my
"retired" engineering friends that is a cleaner and polish.. No water
required.. Good for a quick detail when you get to a rally and want to
freshen it a bit.. Good stuff and I use it a lot.. He never marketed it and
just gave me a coupla cases.. If you like, we can arrange to get you a
bottle of it.. Don't like it throw it away.. no loss..It has generic
preference and works well on chrome..cleans and protects.. The nationality
of the bike is also unimportant and I have never seen any paint harmed by
    it..

Sure, I'd be willing to try it out. I imagine that there is a
percentage of really bad products out there, a very large percentage
of products that work well, and a small percentage of really great
products. I love the motorcycle mags for reviewing this stuff for me,
but I'm not sure that I could tell a huge difference from one product
to the next unless it just didn't work very good.

I have been using this stuff for about three years on the ol' green Vulcan..
How do you think I keep it looking so good ? LOL.. Everyone except Brian has
used it and like it.. The partner of mine in California, who is being
treated for cancer now, used it on his Electra Glide (if you knew how
particular he is).. Brian didn't like it much for some reason.. don't
remember.. Anyway, we will run together one day and I'll let you have a
bottle.. Always carry some in my bags..just in case, you know..
