Like taking a titanium Akrapovic can and chopping 5 inches off the
front end because it looks too long for your bike.

In my defence, it was a pre-disastered silencer, so was either going in
the bin or on ebay. Doesn't titanium spark lots when you get an angle
    grinder to it?

I'll get a photo of it with the CBR trackbike's can on, they are (or
were) identical. It was sticking out of the back by a good few inches.

I got this can with the intention of swopping the immaculate one from
the CBR onto my SV and putting this pre-disastered one on the CBR
because I just know it's going into the gravel at some point. When I
saw how long it looked I knocked that idea on the head so cut the
damaged one down for the SV and put the good one back on the CBR.

That's just a trial fit, it's not finished yet.

I need a new band making and rivetting to the front, so it's going to a
friend in Stevenage who makes titanium race systems for that to be done

If you do, I know someone who'd want that waste metal.

I keep hold of things like that in case I need to make stuff for the
    race bike or my trackbike.

I did chop it, pics here:

It's like a ressurection. I'd call it Jesus and prepare to pray.

I took it in to Mark Hill at MHP in Stevenage yesterday for a new front
band to be made and fitted and repacking. He reckons he'll have it
looking like brand new and factory once he's finished with it.

It could be the beginnings of a nice cottage industry (no Anthony X's need
    apply though)
