This seems to have passed me by... has everyone else seen it: a 1.9-litre
24-cylinder two-stroke motorbike powered by chainsaw engines?

Although I think if I wanted 1.9 litres of bike in my garage I'd probably
choose something else!

Anyone care to translate the comments after the test run?

How do they balance the one engine against another?
My guess is that they don't. And don't care, so long as all are
running WFO together and all the clutches are all fully engaged by
that point.
I'd imagine so, if only through the weight, bulk and transmission
losses.

I believe there was one, or something similar, at Red Dog Motorcycles in
Potters Bar.

But what if one engine is making, say, 20 bhp, and all the others are
making 25 bhp; does that not mean it's a net drag on things, or does the
power still get added to the communal "pot"?
I suppose it's a bit like when the train blokes have on loco at the front of
a train and another at the back. They won't necessarily be "matched", but
they'll both be giving whatever they've got to the effort.

a) I didn't say that, Rudy did.
b) yer sig-sep's fucked.
Speed's sig-sep appears the same as yours Bear, so I suspect the problem is
your puter/newsreader.whatever, not Speed's sig-sep.

Well, the weaker engines simply won't be pulling as hard, but they'll
still be pulling. It would be a bit like a tug-of-war, with every man
putting a slightly different amount of effort in. The graphs show
quite a broad spread of power and torque, so it's unlikely that an
engine would actually be causing drag on the rest except at the
extreme ends of the rev range.

In fact, it's remotely possible that each engine makes peak power at
slightly different revs, so in theory one could gear them individually
to make best use of this. Highly unlikely to be significant, though.
What a picture!

Apart from the name, both Speed and Bear's sig-sep's are identical on my
screen, so maybe both have a prob (or neither, whichever).
