This niggles me a tiny bit, so here goes.

Ok, so horses have a saddle and you ride them, pedal bikes have a saddle
and you ride them. So why do dome people drive a bike, when it has a
saddle? Surely, cattle and cars you drive, horses and motorbikes[1] you
    ride... coz they've saddles.

    [1] Scooters too.

Not always. They're either American, or drive a car more than they ride
    a bike.

Only yanks as far as I know.

Surely, cattle and cars you drive, horses and motorbikes[1] you
NO-ONE rides a scooter, do they?

Driving doesn't necessarily mean being in control, right?

I thought pilot like the first jet airliner.. or navigate, like the
    Titanic did.

    Bike with a foot clutch?

I bet you still have to use the clutch to pull away, which will still be
impossible in traffic. I'm not registered disabled yet, and am still
    getting diagnosed by the consultant.

I'm not sure that would be safe, or work too well. I've fixed the
problem by getting a twist and go scooter. I actually quite enjoy riding
the strange contraption now it goes a little faster.

Exactly, it would ride on your fork, right into your gob.

  15. Oh I dunno. I had one on my scrambler derived CZ175, coupled to the
gear lever it was. It worked. I think it only worked for changing
down. It could have been for changing up though I can't remember but I
do know it was only one way. So really I suppose I should be saying
that one way or another it worked and the other way it didn't but it
didn't half work well when it did. I enjoyed that bike.

Harrumph. As a pilot and charioteer, I rather think I may have the right of
    it in this instance.

*Nice* comeback. Unusual for you, but a bullseye, I'd say.
