Some of you may remember Drizzt, aka Paul.R1 aka Paul Russel who used to
post here a few years ago, and some of you victorians may have even
ridden with him on rides and also had a few drinks with him at PI at
    Geoff's Old Holiday house.
He used to ride a purple and yellow gixxer with a ridiculously useless
headlight and he rode home in torrential rain from the supers at night.
He, along with Slej helped me dig out the spud on the black spur.
Unfortunately he was the rider who was killed on the Monash Freeway last
    week on the 11 december.
I may not have seen Paul for a while but he was a great jovial bloke who
loved his riding and will not be easily forgotten.
    RIP Paul.

He was a gentleman motorcyclist (despite that gixxer colour scheme!).

    Rest in Peace Drizzt.

He was also one of the better Counterstrike players (an online first person
shooter game). We used to play together a few years ago. He had my respect
    :) Unlike MartyH :)

Damn shame. A thoroughly nice guy. I'll never forget his mangy t-shirt he
wore over the top of his leather jacket, so the leather did not get covered
    with bug splats.

    R.I.P. Paul.

    Cheers,
    Dale.

I'm thinking it's about time this group had an Honour Board.

Shit. I didn't know him but I hate it when any rider hangs up their
    helmet permanently.

    Sorry to hear it.
I think people should be honoured whilst they are still alive.

(lets that one go through to the keeper)

I didn't know him, but as grumpyrider said, it's always sad when
someone dies before their time. May he rest in peace.

    Onya bike...

Through Paul we all understood that Alpinestar SMX Plus boots don't go well
with shorts.....but it suited the caravan park.

  14. Thanks for the photo. I've met very few people on here but seen a lot of
photos over the years, including Paul's. It's good to have the anonymity
lifted. My sympathy goes to his family.

Just about any ritual performed after a person's death would be
considered macabre when viewed out of a familiar context.
