drug testing

    How reliable is it?

I'm only asking because I failed a test when I tested positive for
amphetamines not only on the first test but also on a re-test and I
know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I haven't knowingly taken any
    amphetamines.

The only pills I've taken in the last few months have been anti
inflammatory after landing on my elbow and having it swell up pretty
fucking horribly so it's not as if there could have been a **** up
    from that perspective so where?

I doubt very much that the curries served up at the gas plant in Oman
were laced with speed, I doubt if the beers served on the flights were
similarly spiked and the only other place I've had anything to eat or
drink was in a pub in Norwich and at Norwich City football club when
we went to the game last weekend.

The guy doing the testing said he believed me and threw the testing
kit in the bin then filled the form in saying I'd passed rather than
calling out a doctor to do a full on test but I'm wondering how the
**** I failed? If it'd been a test on an offshore platform I'd have
been looking for a new job right now and that's quite worrying.

I'll be paying a visit to my doctor next time I'm home to ask him the
same questions but experience tells me that ukrm is full of clever
cunts who might have a logical answer. If I'm producing my own speed
I'm going to start draining out blood by the pint and flog it to the
local night clubbers who'd probably pay a fortune for it.

    Go for it...

I know aphetamines dont stay in the body that long, also they are pretty
rare these days, with folk just whacking coke & pills.

I also know if you had a decent dose, you *would* know it, you might
have copped for a spiked drink or something...

Or Adie's is feeding you drugs to kill you & weaken you slowly :)

I know this which is why I can't figure it out.
    See above.
Not enough money in the bank to make it worth the cost of the drugs.

  4. Possibly contaminated testing kit or just false positives , were the
anti inflammatory tablets issued in the UK or overseas , its quite
possible if issued overseas they may contain extra ingredients

What i would be more concerned with is the fact that the guy doing
the test binned it and falseified the records when he should have
followed protocol and called in a doctor .

Could just be that your body produces a high level of a particualr
enzyme that skews the test, or that the anti inflamatory is being
picked up instead - presumably it was a urine based test not hair /
    blood / saliva based?

The more i think about this, if i where you i would see a doctor, ISTR a
copper mate of mine failed a routine urine sample for drugs, cant
remember if it was speed or something else...turned out he had an
underlying medical condition that spooked the test..

Although, if you dont mind me saying, you do look like a speedfreak :)

    Get it checked out...

    :)

Which test? Hair, piss, blood? If you have a brand name then it should be
possible to find the error rate.
searching google scholar (academic articles only) lists some fairly common
types of drugs that give false positives. Certain beta blockers are
mentioned and pseudoephedrine. The latter is some cold medicines.

Personally, I suspect it is the ritalin Adie slips into your corn flakes
    when you are home.

The way to check for this is, if you talk all night about gibberish,
want to wank yourself skinless all morning & then feel like killing
yourself all afternoon...speed it is :)

THere was a well-publicised Olympic failure some years back, when
Alain Baxter, who'd won bronze in the Slalom, Britain's first winter
Olympics medal for decades, failed on amphetamines due to a US-bought
    Vic's inhaler which contained pseudoehedrine, a common-enough
decongestant. The ingredient is now no longer used, as it was, for a
while, the major source of ingredients for crystak meth
    (methamphetamine) manufacture.

Sadly, although eventually he was completely exonerated of guilt,
Alain was never restored to the Brinze position - the guy who was
promoted in his place wanted to give it up to him, but was banned from
    doing so by the IOC.

It was a saliva based test where you sit with a swab in your mouth for
three minutes then it's inserted into a device which has a litmus
paper type indicator that shows up the drugs.

Thanks for your words of encouragement.
If you mean considerably faster than you then you're probably correct.

What can I say? I've obviously got an honest face.

He asked me if I wanted to pay the £275 for a doctor to come and check
it and when I said no he asked me how my company would react? I said
they should bin me (we've done it before to someone who failed a test)
but if they did I'd go for an independent test and just sit at home on
full pay then go back after a couple of weeks holiday completely
    exonerated.

Apparently the test doesn't stand up in a court of law and is only a
guideline because of the way it's administered and (even better) they
get regular failures for no known reason. The tester told me
afterwards that most people who have actually been taking banned drugs
either walk out at the threat of a test or admit to it straight away
and ask if they can be failed on booze rather than drugs so their
company just gives them a verbal kicking and lets it go.

one of the drugs listed as giving a positive was a slimming pill - contains
a derivative of amphetamine. Perhaps Andy naturally produces a similar
chemical that keeps him looking the fine Belsen-a-like specimen he is?

Thats correct , any tests administered have to be done by a doctor
preferrebly away from your work envoirement where there may be a
    possiblity of cross contamination

Not got any liver , kidney problems or diabetes?
Any of those can give false positives for speed so that chat
with the doc is obviously advisable.

That'll be me not going to the doctor then.

I only go there when I want something and I certainly don't want any
    of those.
