    Just a tad!

gNat and I came home and jumped straight into the pool.
I stripped to my undies but all gNat did was take her phone out of her
    jeans pocket!!

Come down to our loverly 13°C!

Days are OK, nights are still cool. Few friends around for drinkies
last night and it was decidedly cool on the balcony (therefore we had
to drink lots to keep warm, Jase's neighbours will hate him :)

Cheers and Merry Drinkmas to you and the fambly Clembo.

Thought about coming today, but woke up this morning with yesterdays alcohol
still trying to evaporate from my body in the humidity. I thought putting
on the jeans and jacket in 32 degrees wasn't a good option, but jumping in
the pool definitely was. Glad to see some of you made the effort. Maybe
    next time.

    Cheers,

Well, "next time" may be sooner than you think 'cause there was talk of
doing a Mt Glorious/Mt Mee run on Sunday!

Would have loved to have gone but had committments with the kids. Next time.

Santa brought Jen a new summer MotoDry jacket, the one with all the mesh. We
had lunch up at Glorious on a stinking hot Christmas day. Jen made a point
of telling me how wonderfully cool it was at every opportunity, while I'm
sweating to death in the Nordic, which is essentially a armoured black
    plastic bag.

Santa brought me a model of a GSXR750. Very nice, but no MotoDry for me. He
fucked up there somewhere, because I know Jen's been much naughtier than me
    this year.

    Dave,

Regarding the MotoDry, how much, where, whaddayafink (more to the point,
what does Jen think)? How does it stack up against the DriRider/Rjays
    offerings?

All I've found is a Courier Mail article which isn't exactly the most
    informative source.

I currently have an Arctic, which is ok in the heat except that there's no
air flow around the forearms and lower back. Result is predictable. Not as
hot as a Nordic, but warm enough, hence my enquiry...

How does the bloke standing near the helmet get the helmet over the lump on
    the back of his head?

Wish I had an Arctic, at least you've got vents under the arms. They were
nearly twice the price of the Nordic2 at the time, so its one of those
compromises you make. Was a good choice in July, and its only now in a hot
December that its a problem. Generally its ok as long as you're moving.

Jen was a bit iffy about the fit of the MotoDry. Its got gussetted arms so
you can stretch your arms out, and Jen says it feels a bit baggy there but
she's not sure if its just because she's not used to it. Very different to
    her leathers obviously.

The waterproofing is on the inside so I don't know how it would go in heavy
rain. The waterproof liner zips out and goes in a zippered pocket at the
    back.

I looked at the DriRider Drimesh, the design didn't thrill me and I didn't
think the extra money was worth it. The Rjays offering was cheap crap.
Looked and felt very cheap. Might be ok as a second jacket for the month or
two where the Arctic is too hot. Cost was $249 for the MotoDry. About $50
dearer for the DriRider, $100 cheaper for the Rjays.

I went to Midtown Kawasaki here, decided on the MotoDry then went over to
the Honda place to confirm the choice, then went back to Midtown to buy the
MotoDry. I got a different salesman and he tried to push an Rjays on me, and
implied I was crazy buying the dearer MotoDry. Wanker.

Regarding the Arctic, it's really only when it's above 32 or 33 it gets
bad - or when the humidity's approaching 100%, approximately at said
    temps...

I've also looked at a Drimesh and was not overly impressed.

Is armour standard/available for the MotoDry?

    Ta muchly for the info.
