Bravo Bayliss- he worked on his race setup. works for Bayliss- he's the guy
    that is finishing races.

V4- now where did that idea come from?

That was what was originally claimed but there is way too much vibration to
deal with doing it this way. I don't know the firing order and I suspect it
is secret, but it is certainly not the double V-twin thing.

    Bingo!

But I'll hazard the Ariel Square Four though....

not quite a 90degree vee four but none-the-less....

not Honda as some were expecting :)

They only first produced single swingarms, underseat exhausts, mono-shock
    rear ends, and USD forks.

Nope- it fires 360, or like a road VFR800. not the 180 like the RC30. I
heard one (Desmosedici) on RPM a few weeks ago, off the bottom throttle you
    can't miss it :)

now a V5 is another story.......

    :)

I understood the Squariel to be a twin-crank double-parallel twin. No
    relation to a V4.

I don't know for sure but I was told colloquially that the weakness of the
Squariel was that because it was a single-crank the pistons were at an angle
    to the crank at ignition.......
    Zebee will know.....

  14. But if that was the case, then it couldn't be a square four; it'd be more of
    a rhomboid...

Let me consult the "annoying prat" section of my Ivory Tower Library ...

"One of the most famous roadsters of all, Ariel's Square Four
was also one of the longest lived, remaining in production in
various forms from 1931 to 1958. The Square Four, whose
powerplant was effectively a pair of geared-together parallel
twins [...] In all those forms the "Squariel" was superbly
smooth, but suffered from overheating problems
    with its rear cylinders".

Hey Clem, did I mention that my brother had one of those?

Actually I thought there was a more common Squariel of 600 cc.
