Ducati parts in the UK?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by mentalguy2004, May 16, 2006.

  1. I'm the supersports 600 brake problem guy :(

I took the front master cylinder off, whereupon the piston fell out,
followed by the spring. There's no circlip holding it all in, and looking at
the Haynes manual exploded view, I'm about 4 or 5 washers/seals short on
what is "normal" LOL. No wonder it didn't work. Piston is in nice condition
    though :)

I cannot find a replacement MC anywhere except Ducati dealers, nor an
overhaul kit (which Duke don't offer) which might be of some use. I'm
resigned to buying the official Duke MC, but it's £80 but I would hope to
    find a cheaper one somewhere.

Is there any UK dealer of similar parts (it's a Brembo 10.4773) perhaps
cheaper? Or a seal kit seller?

I've got one you can have for £45 inc postage.

Drop me an email - the reply address is live.

    | Coo. A mechanical question and I got it right.

For a bonus point, can you tell me why all those parts were missing... ???

    :)

  4. FFS, it's a master cylinder. Any reasonable twin-disc replacement should
suffice, unless you're desperate for it to remain original. Go to a
    breaker.

  5. Such as... ? I've got a single disc, by the way.

  6. Such as a master cylinder from a single disc bike. Just go to a breaker
and rummage around for one that'll fit. It doesn't *have* to be a
genuine Ducati item - as long as it's from a bike that has a similar
    sized caliper, it'll work.

So? Apart from identifying the poster as a possible newbie, I don't
see any relevence in that. OE is perfectly configurable wrt quote
    characters.

    Yeah, whenever there's a newsreader-related cock-up, you default to
    blaming it on Microsoft.
