anyone have experience with the dunlop d220s? they're the replacement
for the d205s. i have a VFR, like the 207s i've had on it in the past,
but theyre worn out and my commute just got nasty starting about a month
ago (100+ mile round trip). since i'm mostly doing superslab, i wanted
to see if they really live up to thier 'longer lasting' claims while
still being somewhat sporty for the odd weekend twisties.

    thanks,

I haven't tried either tire, but I've heard that the Metzeler Z6 filled
much the same role while lasting a bit longer.

I'm going to use the Z6 on my BMW next time I change tires, which should
be in the next few weeks...

  3. on my somewhat heavier BMW R1100RS, I much prefer the metzeler MeZ4 over
the D205, they wear much more evenly, and behave better on difficult
surfaces when they are partially-to-mostly worn. I found the
predictability of the D205 went to hell after they were 1/2 gone... they
became squirrely on paint, grills, grooves, etc. The MeZ4 ride great
right up til they are gone. Early accounts from the beemer community are
the D220 wear much faster than the D205 did if you ride at all briskly on
them, while the early reports on the MeZ6 that replaces the Z4 are quite
    good.

  4. I can't compare them to the 207's, but I've tried a pair on a
2000 CBR 1100XX and loved them. Much better than the 020's and
Macadam 90's for grip, wear, and cornering "feel". I would
    recommend them without hesitation.
