I have a 08 Sprint ST and it needs a new rear tyre and am going to
    change both front and back.

On a previous bike I had Michelin Road Pilot 2 and was very happy
with these for both touring and local riding, but now I am told the
Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart is the mutts nuts.

Anybody have experience of these or would the concensus be
    stay with what you know?

    Thanks
    Alan

    Who makes them then?
And why these over the above?

The clue is in the Conti bit. Not had them myself, but they get good
    reviews

Continental, i just looked, never heard of them. read some reviews
online, some reckon fantastic, some say they are like stone, no feel.

What to do what to do!

I have them on my R-GS. As sports touring tyres go they are very good in
    the cost/mileage/grip compromise dept.

I used them for a trip to the Alps this year. Rode in 30C sunshine around
Interlaken and whilst it snowed at 2500m in the Kaunertal. Excellent grip
    in all conditions.

Whilst good, I found the Contis slow to warm up and frequently a handful in
the wet when in last third of their life. Avon Storms were better and the
Roadsmarts, I currently have, will be fitted again next time as they seem
even better. Sorry, no experience of the Michelins

Thanks for this, I did like the Michelins, now I have a choice between the
Dunlops and Michelins, time to see who can give me the best deal.

    Avon Viper Extreme.

Not even tried them yet, but they look cool.

Quick warm-up, good grip, stable under braking but prone to going off
at extremes with no warning, can produce some nasty slides when very
    hot.

  13. Nick Sanders just rode round the world on an R1 with those babies.
    That's a pretty good endorsement.

Furthermore, matie over the road had a couple of sets of road attacks
on his thundercat and swears by them. Having said that, he's just
swapped to Roadsmarts, and rates them too.

I had a pair of Sport Attacks and when they were warmed up they were magic,
but when they were cold, they were fucking lethal. I would imagine the Road
Attacks would warm up far more quickly though.

OK, one tap for "They're shite", two taps for "The tyres are OK, I just
