DVLA online tax weirdness

I noticed today that the tax on the Ducati runs out at the end of the month.
So...I go online to DVLA and enter the required information only to get the
following response "Unfortunately, because of the tax class of the vehicle
or recent changes to the vehicle record, you are currently unable to apply
for a tax disc or declare SORN using this service.". Now this bike has been
registered in my name since August 08 so there haven't been any "recent
changes to the vehicle record" and there is nothing unusual about the
taxation class. I can't see any reason why the online service is refusing to
play ball. This is a pain in the backside as I will now have waste time
queuing in the Post Office. I have taxed loads of vehicles online and this
is the first hassle I have had. Anyone else had similar problems?

Probably just a typical government IT **** up. It might work tomorrow.

You might want to check that someone has not applied for a V5 for your reg.
no. after buying a bike with a cloned plate from a thief.
