Just had my Vmax dynoed and tuned at REPS in Caldicot. Well worth the trip,
Royston did a lovely job and the bike is better than it ever has been.

He took the time to talk to me about my riding style and tuned the bike to
fit, got rid of that irritating stutter that appeared at 2000 revs after I
fitted an Eagle 2-1 system and it now rides as smooth as a very smooth thing
    with power all the Wahaaaayy!

    Lovely people. Recommended.

I should think it _would_ run like shit with a 2:1 exhaust on a 4cyl engine
    :>)

Out of interest, how much power did it make?

    116.30 BHP
    92.06 Torque

I had a look at the records of a few other dyno runs for Vmaxes, standard
full power bike makes about 112 as mine did last year before I put the new
pipes on. I had it on the Dyno at the Welsh bike show last year before I put
the new pipes on and it made 112bhp. A couple of other maxes with various
mods were there making around the same figures - between 112 and 120.

Dunno where they get the claimed 145 bhp from.

That's healthy power, what RPM did the torque kick in?
Estimated engine bhp at the crank plus a bit more thrown in for good
    measure.

How much did that set you back? If you don't me asking.

    Tim

Or, the non polite version - How much that cost then?

Molly asked: > That's healthy power, what RPM did the torque kick in?

I don't know how to figure that out. The printout has power and torque
    against
mph. There's no mention of rpm anywhere on the printout.

Both lines appear just before 25mph, power is a more or less straight
diagonal line all the way up with a couple of waves. The line ends at
120mph. Torque goes up vertically to about 60 then settles down into a
gentle arc with a few bumps, peaking at 92.6.

You might guess I am not too savvy with this stuff, I just wanted to get my
    fuelling right.

Then Tim said:> How much did that set you back? If you don't me asking.

    £51.90 - couldn't believe it myself.

I tell a lie ... just looked at the receipt, I bought a set of batteries for
my datatool fob as well they were £6.72 - the Dyno run and subsequent
fettling with the air/fuel mix, the airbox and checking the carb balance,
was ... £37.45! (+VAT). I arrived at about 0930 and because I had booked it
in they rolled it into the Dyno booth at about 10:00, handed me a mug of
coffee and I was on my way I guess by about 11:30.

Couldn't ask for more. In fact I was so chuffed I rang them up when I got
home to tell them just how chuffed I was. And I am not a verbal type.

    How so?
Well I guess what he seemed to be saying was that there was a choice of a
smooth torquey power delivery at the bottom end with less top end, or better
top end but less torquey at the bottom. This would have required new
    jets/filters etc.

As is my personal preference I chose a smooth bottom but not much on top.

Now I come think about it, just like me really.

    I'm talking about hair.
