Did anyone record the whole series? Could they put it on a disc or UKRM
    Nova for me?

I can't seem to get 4OD to work and I'd rather not watch it all on a
    crappy laptop.

I had a bit of trouble with 4OD after Champ pointed me in its direction
for the Time Team WW1 stuff.

First it didn't seem to install properly. Said a .dll had failed to
register properly. Sought it out and registered it manually.

Then it kept complaining about DRM licensing and insisting it must
    update something.

Then it demanded a Media Player update.

Then it would only stream and downloads stopped claiming insufficient
disc space. Didn't seem to be able to configure the download storage
location like BBC iPlayer, so I un-installed and re-installed to a drive
I knew had oodles of space.

    Still complaining.

Get back after a petrolheads day out yesterday leaving my PC logged in
to find the two downloads I started had finally completed succesfully.

Anyway, 'Dead set' is on Bear's favourite thebox.bz if your ethics will
    allow a torrent download.

Buy the DVD - it's on sale in every supermarket in the country.

Doesn't solve the problem of how I can get to see 'Folk Hibernia' (BBC4
    March 2007ish).

Not on DVD. No active torrents. Nobody got it I suppose before I
    forlornly try reseed requests?

  7. "Folk Hibernia
    BBC4 - 14 March 2008

A documentary which looks at the Irish folk revival of the last 20 or 30
years. 60 years ago virtually unheard abroad and largely unloved at
home, Irish music has given the world a sense of Ireland and Ireland a
sense of itself, as the country has risen from an impoverished
post-colonial upstart to a modern European power. Contributors include
Christy Moore, Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains, Ronnie Drew of The
Dubliners, Liam Clancy of The Clancy Brothers and Shane MacGowan of The
    Pogues.

Bollox. I never thought of there. I've had it stalled on 50% from four
    other trackers for ages.

BTW, AFAIK the Beeb have not yet issued "Scotland's Music" on DVD. I
downloaded it as a torrent ages ago.

Not of interest to anyone not a porridge wog, or without celtic roots I
suppose, but I could upload it if anyone expressed an interest.

Phil Cunningham is often worth a listen IMO.

SWMBO does a version of this one (not featured in Sctotland's Music -
    SWMBO or the song).

  14. That one wasn't really my kind of thing, but the Phil & Johnny track on
    the same page is...
Damn it, you got me sidetracked there for a couple of hours trying to
find out what happened to some musicians I knew, and it's interesting,
    right enough.

    Bloody good, this internet thing.
