Ear plugs from HG

I bought some decent ear plugs from HG, they have little inserts so you
can 'tune' out a few different frequencies. Anyway, they do work very
well, much better than crappy foam things that always fall out of my
    ears.

Not cheap, but decent they are.

They are Alpine Hearing Protection & come in a red square case in case
    anyone is interested.

    Cheers

Talking of ear plugs, I started wearing them (foam ones) for the first time
last week. I got back after a 120 mile motorway one night last week, took my
plugs out and haven't been able to hear in one ear at all since... I have
also got a ringing sound in the same ear.

    Anyone else had this?

I normally have excellent hearing, think its due to the immense size of my
flappers as those on here that have met me will testify.

What colour were the plugs when you took them out?

If they were pale grey it means your brain is running a bit lean.

One was a nice light tan, the other looked a bit sooty, looks like I am
    missing on one cylinder.

Your ear is blocked by wax. Get some eardrops from the chemist.
    I SAID WAX. EARDROPS.

Tapered foam plugs work perfectly and don't fall out if you fit them
    properly.

Or use some Olive Oil, slightly warmed.
    Eh?

    I CAN HEAR AGAIN WHOOPEE!

I had a doctors appointment this morning anyway and mentioned it to him, he
sent me in to see the practice nurse where she put me on this ear washing
machine (first time for everything), I now have 20/20 hearing again.

She got a big log of horrible brown wax out, oh sorry were you eating
    your sandwiches?

So you were quite right, David (in stereo)

  9. Don't push them in too hard in case they pop out the other side.

  11. Those Laser Lites work well for me, and such a lovely colour - look like
those rhubarb and custard sweets you used to get as a kid!

I use Max Lites at work, just as comfortable but let a little bit more
    sound though.

Those are the ones I normally use as I have one very tight ear canal and
they squash down a long way. My local shop ran out, so I'm using some
green things which work quite well at baffling the sound of my race can
    - they work well enough for my Arai to sound quiet too.

  13. Aye, even my Arai is bearable with the LLs.

I get them in 100s from that PPE place in Barrow, Deltawaite it says on
the box but I'm sure they called themselves something else at the time
(unless my mate, who works for Shell, gets me a slack handful from his
    place!)
