A quick google for the not-entirely-shit route I've used in the past
gives...

A404 to High Wycombe
A4010 to Aylesbury
A413 and A43 to Towcester
A5 to Hinckley (long and dull, but better than the M1)

....which would obviously be a bit shit coming from London now, followed
by...

A447, A511, B587 (signs for Melbourne and Derby)
A50, A38, and then following signs to Heddleston and Hulland

If I can find a vaguely interesting route from north London to Hinckley,
I'll tack the last bit on the end and make a ride of it.

Weather forecast is good so stop being a useless fucker and get it
sorted, even if "sorted" means velcro cable-ties or the like.

That was booked up months ago.

 

I was thinking of just cable tying it up, and leaning the bike against
a fence when i got there.

I've been to 4 or 5 in the past.

there are still a few hoops to be jumped through before it's a cert,
but hopefully.

 

I've been to none so far.

I will almost certainly be in the area on Sunday, en route to Derby.
It's doubtful I'll have time to call in, but what time does everyone
**** off on the Sunday? Just in case, like?
