Easy jobs for a Saturday

I thought I'd better sort out a few of those annoying little jobs that
need doing on the bikes while the sun's shining and Adie's at the
football so 11am I got into it.

The Kawasaki was dead easy because it'd got a slightly sticky
gearchange so I stripped the rearsets, sprayed a bit of WD40 around
    and the job was done.

I expected the LC to be a bit more complicated because it appeared
that the carbs needed stripping and there's always something goes
missing when I do that. **** that, turn the petrol on, kick it twice
and it was running nicely. I was slightly disturbed by the fact that
it spewed a load of petrol out of the left hand exhaust but that's
because it had sat on the sidestand with the fuel on for about 3
months until the last time Adie tried to start it but at least the
fuel had been switched off this time so it wasn't sloshing around in
    the barrel.

The last job was to take the R1 out and scrub the tyres before it goes
to Cadwell. So much for the easiest job of the day, it's now on the
Optimate having a bit of life put into the battery because pushing it
round and round the garden won't get much heat into the tyres.

I think I may have to go for a quick blast on the 10R to try and re
calibrate my brain to sports bike mode before taking it out on a
    track.

speaking of "round and round the garden", I've just dissolved 6
million nematodes in 16 liters of water and sprinkled them all about.

I had the same thought, so took care of it on the way to yours
earlier. What a wonderful, wonderful toy.

don't worry, I have a roll of industrial strength refuse bags,
multiple 18" paving slabs, and easy access to Enfield's "New River
    Loop" as a backup plan.

It's just started to piss with rain so I forgot all about taking your
bike out for a blast and it's now got a slightly tatty bike cover over
    it.

I'll take some pics in the morning and post the ad as soon as
    possible.

  10. I'm intending to do that at some point. They don't have to be
scattered [1] before it gets frosty or anything like that do they?

    [1] sloshed?

yes, they do, as the earth on which they're slattered has to be kept
moist for 2 weeks after insertion (eww).

  15. Hmmm, should get on with it I suppose. Did you use Nemaslug? Also, I'm
slightly boggled that I'm taking gardening advice from you.

  16. I found out what was up with the squash plants - combination of
vericillium wilt and powder mildew. I have 1 squash that survived.

Also you turned up in my dreams last night, I'd gone round to visit
you and you were dead. I was quite upset (in the dream) and sniffling
    and everything.

    yeah, ordered online from Unwins.
I'm only passing on the "wisdom" I got from Gardeners' World[1]

[1] hey, this isn't the first time I've mentioned that I watch it -

  19. I'll wait until the last of the toms are ripe [1] then get it down
    when I've cleared.
I just listen to GQT, nothing as vulgar as GW.

[1] Took all the small ones that have no chance out this afternoon so
I'll be making chutney this weekend.
