Similarly for the brake pads, They've either been done or they
    haven't. It's easy enough to check ..

I'm confused. Is it the bike or the gaylord that's utterly horrible?

I have already made the greatest contribution to the fight against climate
change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

Ad worked well on me, I was gutted to see it had sold so quickly. If
the buyer dicks you about I'd be quite interested in that. Could come
next weekend and have a look. Forward controls might be a bit far away
for SWMBO (she tried a Sportster Custom and couldn't quite reach) - is
there a way of adjusting them or something?

If they're the HD ones then they're not adjustable, though you can
change how far away they are by changing the seat. Or buy putting a
Harley Davidson (TM) Shortass Fannypad (R) behind her bum so she sits
    nearer the controls.

I'll keep that in mind. They're coming over from Germany in the next
couple of weeks to pick it up but if it falls through I'll let you know.
They're not adjustable and I think they might be too far forward - even
though it doesn't look like it, it's noticeably bigger (but lower) than
a Sporty. They're pretty comfy for me at 5'11" if that helps.

Given the additional length of a big twin, "nearer the controls" might
well read "on the tank" :).

Was that you offering the reserve price in if I would end the auction
straight away or was that someone else from your neck of the woods?
