I was convinced today to give them a try, by a customer of mine who let
me have a set for the Bandit at a stupidly cheap price. I'll be
measuring the thickness of the part-worn discs before I fit the new pads
and keeping an eye on disc wear as I go, just to satisfy my curiosity.
She also let me have some steering head bearings for silly cheap money
too. I think she might be saying summat here.

You might have a point, I wasn't in my usual shirt and tie today.

    Funny you say that.

I get more cups of tea and offers of food if I have gravy stains on my
    polo shirt.

I had some on my B6; I found them to be bloody impressive, and
stoppies became mandatory at every red light. I never got the chance
to find out how badly they wore the discs, but I did have them on the
    bike for over a year.

I had some on my B6, they were ok I suppose. I wouldn't use them again
    though, no point.

Not since you bought that anchor-and-sprag set from eBay, anyway.

Well they made the standard Gixxer brakes somewhat better. They work
amazingly well in the R100RS and are great with the 7R brakes on this
Bandit. OTOH I didn't like them in the K1100 or the 996 which were
    better with the OEM pads.

The FRNs on the B6 are ok for gentlemen more inclined to make steady,
but stately progress. I did, however, realize the error of my ways just
    after I'd posted.

Why doesn't Loz pick up some 4 pots for the B6? Surely some old gixer
    ones will fit?

Engine braking more than adequate for you scenery admirers, eh?
Why bother? The standard fitment work quite adequately and he's just
    sourced pads for them. WGAF?

They're not that bad surely? Has Loz got the standard braided brake line
    upgrade on his B6?
Options, other ways of acheiving simular results, but with kinder on the
disks non sintered / high copper content pads.

    I've got braided lines.
I won't be fitting better calipers or discs to the Bandit because I
can't be arsed to spend money on what is effectively a piece of shit
bike that cost me peanuts to buy. It's a cheap hack for taking into
central London, where it will possibly be stolen, probably crashed and
    definitely abused.

    Simple as that.

I was referring to you, you dense fucker - not old speedyspic.
Why would he need "options", ffs? I see he's already replied in a
similar vein, but you really are off on a tangent all of your own
making here. The point is that HH pads do the business, generally -
although at the added cost of increased disc wear. However, when s/h
discs are readily available for a few quid and HH pads are cheap (to
spics wot sales staff take pity on) then why should he go to the
trouble and expense of sourcing alternative calipers (and pads to fit
    them) when he's already sorted?

Yes, I know.. Just wondering about the Loz B6.
When people see one path to a goal, I see many, that's all I meant.
