Hello City workers. Anyone up for a pint in EC sometime next week? I

Well, somewhere near the Monument would suit me. I'll have a think.
You're Holburn/Old Bailey way, are you not?

I'm surprised you would patronise a Wetherspoon's pub.

  4. Is the Princess Louise in Holborn still a decent hostelry?

it's better than the other two shit pubs at Liverpool St. when you're
waiting for the delayed trains to appear.

No idea - I'm located east of the Old Bailey (for the smallest amount
    of "east" possible).

The only places I know on Holborn are Davy's Bung Hole, The Penderel's
Oak, Lounge and that Sam Smith's pub I forget the name of that's full
    of seffers.

  9. Ah, OK. Probably near my old office in Hillgate House, perchance. The PL is
up at the New Oxford Street end. Amazing old Victorian tiled decor, and it
used to do a decent pint.
OK, I'm whooshed. Full of *what*?

Duh, I'm thinking of the Pontefract Castle

  13. Not the one I'm thinking of. It's next to the old Holborn Library. Almost at
    New Oxford Street.

  14. Spooky, dude. When I replied to you, I'd wondered if you meant the
Pontefract. They used to do a couple of hundred malts, iirc.

  17. D'oh. A brain that wasn't knackered might be better. Hillgate is opposite
the Bailey, but that would be west, of course.
As in, "I never met a nice ....."

  20. I am mostly in Hosier Lane when I go there these days. Has the benefit of
very cheap parking under Smithfield, too.
Heh. We've a Seth Efrican Project Manager at work. I sent him a .wav file of
that song, and he had never ever heard it. He's still speaking to me, too.
