"Schools are to be given official guidance on how to teach pupils
standard spoken English. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority
said it wanted to ensure children were able to communicate "clearly" in
    all settings.
The move comes amid concern that excessive television and computer use
    are damaging conversational ability."

I'm amazed - why are the "authorities" advising schools as to how
children should be taught at school how to speak English correctly?
Isn't that what they should be doing anyway?

Them comprehensible schools should be banned, they isn't learning them
kids all stuff about how they should speech proper, and ain't not
teaching thems about stuff what they will need in the reel world.

It's a fucking transvestry is what it is, not like in the olden days,
when they had them little ladies with spectercules what teached all the
kids to be fashionable, using parots, or something and where mafs and
inglish was spelt with arse, but they called it Reading, rhytmattic and
rightings, or somefink. I don't get that either, speshly how they was
telling all the kids about Reading but never menetioned the festival,
    not even in history.

Nowadays it's all about technology and all the kids is learning how to
do there texts on the nokias but it's ok because they is smarter than
david beckahm and he's done okay and has lots of bling, but he married
that skinny bird. Maybe they should have teached him music so he could
have married one what can sing.

When I grow up I'm going to be like tony blare and go to university, be
cause all the kids nowadays should do that, then we can all be in good
jobs, like estate agents, and in marketing (whatever that is) and stuff.

Nothing new, they've been doing that since national curriculum came in.

Because the current Government/Politicians we have want to control every
    part of our life.

This is a reaction to the 'free availability' of quality information to
the general public via the internet (which in reality has only taken off
in the last 10 years). In the past they managed to control us by
controlling what we see; there is scope for independent media that can't
be controlled. So it's logical they need to control language itself so
it isn't possible for us to comprehend a bad thought.

The Government (via QCA) set out the standard curriculum for all
subjects. Allegedly the content is agreed by commitee which includes
representatives from teachers and parents groups amongst others. In
practise the officials let those 'consulted' have their say and then
go ahead and do whatever the **** they want.

I'm almost tempted to get a copy of the consultation documents
relating to 'The QCA's 60-page booklet - Introducing the Grammar of
Talk' and see who was involved. Then see the reactions of the
academics, unions, interest groups. A lot of whom have their own
agendas. But that way involves me removing my comfy cloak of apathy.

Now when is it going to stop raining so I can go and play again?

I don't know if that was intentional but you just picked my 2 least
favourite topics. If present challenges weren't so unassailable I'd be
liable to flip out and go all crazy.

However, for the good of all, I shall reamin stoic.

I reckon Ginge gone crazy would be a sight worth seeing - particularly
    the Ginge vs boss confrontation.
why bother - it obviously isn't doing you any good.
    I bet.

No, that's what you want. :)
Not worth it. Keep my nose clean, remortgage the house later this year..
Be a good, productive, ginger person. Take regular looks out of the
    window, breathe the fresh air.

    Enjoy riding motorcyles.
Oh it is, in it's own way. I've learnt to do most of the things I was
bad at, at least to a passable level.
    For fun, you understand.

I honestly don't know, although I've heard of them, I've never seen the
    goons.

Perhaps if life had turned out differently, I could have actually
written (although probably not told) something quite funny.
