Has anybody tried these? I am thinking of acquiring them for the
Company of Imbeciles' trip on the elephant. They seem to be well
reviewed but some definite information would be good.

I bought my wife a full body EDZ suit last year and she was WELL pleased
with it. I'm getting a suit for myself this year after her "report", so you
can take that info as you want.

Was this the merino wool one and what temperatures have you taken it
    to?

  4. I'm wearing my black EDZ top from the NEC show right now. Very toasty.

I wore it sans T shirts under my jacket coming back and felt
absolutely fine. Very good piece of kit.

Never tried them, but FYI there's been a bit of a resolution in
skiwear in the last couple of years, with everyone now jumping on the
bandwagon started by Icebreaker, a kiwi company who pioneered the use
of Merino wool for base and mid layers.

It has the combined advantages of great insulating properties while
remaining light and breathable, together with the remarkable lack of
odour-retention, even when worn for several days straight.

I'm a total convert, and never wear anything else next to my skin when
skiing now. Bloody brilliant, it is.

Wool makes me itch. I had a full set of the Helly Hansen Lifa things[1]
which are a Merino blend, and they itched like buggery. They've since been
    oxfammed.

Does it wick ok? That's the most important property for me, and I
    could use some new thermals.

I've got one of their synthetic one piece suits and it's a good piece
of kit. It's not really designed to be winter wear but I'll be using
it as a base layer when we go away because it wicks sweat away really
    well.

Pure Merino doesn't itch. Not at all. Not for anyone.

God yes. Even better than the best of the 'micro-fibre' polyester
stuff that have been the norm for the previous decade or so. And it
dries really quickly if you do need to wash it out.

Did I mention that it doesn't pick up body smells?

    Would I?

It's really nice, though, being able to leave one ski shirt at the
flat and use it again next weekend.

Dunno about independent, but I concur. I've got a couple of pure[1]
Merino tops that I wear for running and cycling and unlike the
man-made ones, I don't have to wash them every time. Hang them up to
air off and they're fine for a few uses. No smell at all.
